Walk in knowing how each horse has been.
Before every visit, HorseWise gives you a report on the horse: how they’ve been eating, drinking, lying down, passing manure and breathing since you last saw them, compared to their own normal, with video clips of anything that changed.
It’s free for you. The barn or the owner pays.

The history you usually get
You see a horse for a few minutes. The history comes from whoever happened to be there: “she seemed quiet this morning,” “I think he finished his hay.” Nobody can tell you when the pawing started overnight, or whether the horse has been drinking less all week.
HorseWise watches every stall around the clock. When you walk in, the history is already written down, with the times and the video to back it up.
How you get access
The owner or the barn invites you to the horses you care for. Open a horse’s report from a link by text or email, or in the HorseWise app. No app is required.
The vet report
Active alerts, with the clip
If HorseWise has flagged signs of colic or signs that a horse may be cast, the alert is at the top of the horse's report with the video clip of what it saw. In an emergency, you get a live link to the stall camera, so you can watch the horse before you get in the truck.
Today, compared to their normal
For each horse:
- Eating: time at hay and grain.
- Drinking: visits to the water bucket or waterer.
- Lying down: how many times and for how long.
- Manure: how often.
- Breathing at rest: breaths per minute, measured from the video while the horse is standing quietly.
- Weight: estimated from the stall camera.
Every number shows next to the horse's own usual number, and is baselined against the rest of the barn. If hot weather has every horse drinking more, it isn’t flagged. If one horse is drinking less while the rest drink more, it is.

7-day trends
A week of each measure, so you can see whether something started yesterday or has been building for days. Anything off has a clip attached.
Things you asked them to watch
When you leave instructions, like “watch his water intake” or “keep an eye on that left front,” the barn can tag the horse with it. The tag shows up for everyone who opens the horse's page, so the morning shift and the evening shift are watching for the same thing. At your next visit, the horse's numbers since then are in the report.
Notes from the barn and the owner
Staff, the owner and the rider can leave notes on a horse: “off his feed at evening feed,” “farrier yesterday,” “trailered to a show Saturday.” Those notes are in the report, next to the days they happened.
The video
Every camera is recorded. If you want to see how a horse was standing at 3 a.m., or how they got up after lying down, you can scrub back to it. Key moments, like the start of an alert, a roll or a long lie-down, are already clipped and time-stamped.
After surgery, on stall rest, in recovery
These are the horses you’d like eyes on overnight and can’t have. With HorseWise in the barn, you can see whether they’re eating, drinking, lying down and passing manure like themselves since you discharged them, without waiting for someone to call you.
Your hospital or recovery barn
If your practice keeps horses on site for surgery, recovery or intensive care, HorseWise can watch those stalls the same way it watches a boarding barn:
- Alerts for signs of colic or casting, sent to whoever is on call, with the clip.
- Eating, drinking, lying down, manure and breathing for every horse, all night.
- Every stall recorded.
- Notes and shift handoffs, so a concern from the day shift reaches the night shift.

What HorseWise is, and isn’t
HorseWise is a record of behavior, not a diagnosis. It tells you what a horse did and how that compares to the horse's normal. What it means is your call.

Talk to usQuestions vets ask
Does it cost me anything?
No. The barn or the owner pays. You get the reports for the horses you’re invited to.
Who invites me?
The horse’s owner or the barn.
Do I need to install an app?
No. A link by text or email opens the horse’s report. If you’d rather use the app, your horses are there too.
Can I get alerts for my clients’ horses?
The barn or the owner can add you to a horse’s alerts.
What can I see?
The report, the clips and the video for every horse you’re invited to.
Does HorseWise diagnose anything?
No. It records behavior and compares it to the horse’s normal. The diagnosis is yours.
